We import raw basswood and beechwood from Northern Russia and import to China via trains, saving on costs. We produce all of the materials in house and sell directly to our customers, there are no middlemen. We maintain low manufacturing and administrative expenses, however, our staff are very professional and skilled at their jobs. We allow ourselves only small profit margins to ensure that developing areas of the world also have the financial ability to set up and maintain a Montessori preschool.

2. Do you sell the furniture needed in Montessori preschools as well?

Yes! We can produce all of the tables, chairs, and shelving needed in a Montessori classroom. Please contact us for more details.

3. Can you name some of the developing countries in which you now have distributors or kindergarten customers.

We have now set up kindergartens in the following developing areas: Mongolia, China, Kazakstan, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Philipines and Sri Lanka in Asia. In Africa, we have furnished kindergartens in Nigeria, Oman, South Africa and Morocco. We have also sold material to Russia, Bosnia, Romania and Azerbaijan. Factory Direct Montessori remains the far and away best choice for all distributors and kindergartens outside of North America. That being said, North American preschools can also save money by ordering from us, particularly for larger-sized orders.

4. Are your products low-quality?

At Factory Direct Montessori, all of our products are made from high quality basswood and beechwood imported from Northern Russia. The pictures you see on the website are actual pictures of our equipment. If you need to make a sample order from us first to see the quality it is no problem; all sample orders are sent my express. All of our materials are brand new and have never been used. They do not use lead paint and are made to last. All of the products are tightly shrink-wrapped and individually packaged in a cardboard box. Each box of supplies will not surpass 18kgs so it easy for you to lift.

5. How is the quality then?

The materials are very high quality and meet the exact specifications laid out by Maria Montessori. They are essentially the same in everyway as the materials made by Nienhuis, except we use basswood. They are finely sanded and complete with several layers of shiny gloss.

6. Are your materials safe?

Our products have both ISO9002 and ISO14000 certifications, as well as CE approval for Europe. Our products have successful test reports from SGS Laboratories certifying there is no lead paint. Please contact us if you need a copy of the reports.

7. What is your return and exchange policy?

If there is any defect or damage to the product upon arrival the customer can contact us about receiving a complete refund, or having the product resent to them. The product in question does not need to be returned to us.

8. What are the payment terms?

Minimum orders are $1000 US and payment is made by T/T wire transfer. Under some exceptions we can accept Paypal instead of the wire transfer.

9. What are your shipping costs?

Orders between $1000-2000 can expect the shipping to be around 30-50% depending on your country. For orders $2000-3000, the estimated shipping fee is between 15-30%, For orders over $3000, the shipping fee will be between 5-20%. Prices vary based on your country and we must contact the shipping company to get an exact quotation. Please send us an email first to receive the order form. We also need your address, postal code, and phone number before we can retrieve a shipping quote.
